MARMITE EGGS: ‘Marmite is a great source of B vitamins - the very same nutrients depleted by stress’

Updated: Oct 7, 2020

If you’re already on the ‘love’ side of the marmite fence, then instagram’s recent surge in marmite-based meal ideas will probably come as music to your...eyes!!

Having long forgotten about marmite as a potential meal or cooking ingredient, it was a lightbulb moment when @amycousins1 put out this simple marmite eggs recipe earlier this week!

Most of us have a jar in our cupboards (maybe unopened, and maybe right at the back) and this lends mileage to the kind of ‘maybe I’ll give that a go’ thinking that many a marmite convert are made of!

If the recent marmite drought (spurned by a shortage of brewers yeast!) was a testament to anything...it’s that not even a much maligned savoury spread is immune to the power of ‘always wanting what we can’t have’!

If this - or waking up to the sight of marmite eggs - has got you inspired to get your whisk on this morning, then taking the chance might just pay dividends... not least because marmite is a great source of B vitamins - the very same nutrients depleted by stress, something we’re all feeling to varying degrees right now.

The only question is...poached or scrambled?
