In our quest for ever-more exciting variations of the sandwich lunch, we couldn’t resist jumping on the ‘egg in a hole’ idea that’s been spotted sliding into our #foodinspo feeds lately!
This recipe changes the face of bagel-making as we know it, so if you’re not keen on giving up the old-school method just yet... turn away now!
Not only is this hot, eggy delight a welcome break from the norm, it’s also a great way of utilising some of the many and varied ingredients that we might be at a loss for what to do with otherwise.
Leftover shakshuka, cheese, roasted veg...you name it, it probably works with an egg in a hole!
With this week being Food Waste Action Week - a campaign designed to encourage a less throwaway attitude to food - it’s a fitting time to think outside the *lunch* box, in the way that this ingenious bagel idea helps encourage.
So, a big shout out to @dontgobaconmyheart_ for the introduction, and to last night’s Shakshuka dinner for stretching to this ‘cracking’ quick-cook, low-waste lunch!
