It’s easy to forget, that there was a time not so long ago when leading a full life and busyness were inextricably linked.
Nowadays, we hear less on the virtues of multitasking and ‘making haste’, than we do on the advantages of sometimes stepping back...and reclaiming more ‘White Space’ in our diaries.
So much is this the case, that being ‘unbusy’ is gaining recognition as the golden thread that connects us to more of the people - and things - that we love.
Family, friends, hobbies... passions.
Simply by time-blocking for the opportunity to practice doing less, better, it’s possible to not only restore mental bandwidth, but also defend our values and priorities from the clutches of ‘productivity.’
Granted, ‘slow down’ isn’t always an easy call to action to implement, especially with the temptation always there to fill the gaps with a tech-shaped peg, but as with so many things...practice makes perfect!
