‘A hot drink might actually help keep us COOL when temperatures are soaring’

Many of us are quick to shun hot drinks when the weather is warmer, but with evidence to suggest that a nice cup of tea might actually help keep us COOL when temperatures are soaring, there’s no need to give up your favourite brew just yet!

Granted, the very idea might smack of old wives tales, but with some hard science backing this particular one up... who are we to argue?

Tea lovers rejoice, therefore, as that beloved brew might just cleverly offset the effects of its own heat, by encouraging you to sweat more...which in turn reduces body temperature!

The theory does, however, only work on hot, dry days, AND if you are wearing loose, light clothing that allows sweat to evaporate, according to research by the University of Ottawa’s School of Human Kinetics.

Who knew, eh? ☕️ ☀️
