Give your bath a boost


The only thing better than a relaxing, soothing bath is one that also improves your health in the process.

Make your soak super by adding one of these 10 items.

Ginger root

Add – 1 tablespoon, freshly chopped.

Benefits - Relieves colds, congestion, and soothes sore muscles.

Take care – A ginger bath will make you sweat, so keep hydrated during your soak.

Epsom salt

Add – ½ cup to running water.

Benefits -Soothes aches, pains and sore muscles, reduces inflammation.

Did you know – Epsom salt can help remove a splinter? It calms the skin and softens the splinter for easy removal.

Lavender

Add – Dried lavender wrapped in muslin cloth or a few drops of lavender essential oil.

Benefits - Reduces stress, muscle soreness & reduces inflammation.

Grow your own – get green fingered with an indoor lavender plant. Set it by the window and don’t over-water.

Oatmeal

Add – An oatmeal-filled muslin cloth parcel under running water.

Benefits - Soothes dry, itchy skin and softens all over.

Breakfast bath – don’t pour the oats straight into the tub, otherwise you’ll end up stepping in porridge!

Raw honey

Add – 1 cup to running water.

Benefits - Deep cleans pores and intensely moisturises.

Nature’s healer – Honey is naturally antioxidant so will detox your body while you bathe.

Baking soda

Add – 4-5 tablespoons to your bath.

Benefits - Calms, relieves and soothes irritated skin.

Balance it out – Baking soda restores pH balance & neutralises skin acidity.

Green tea

Add – 5-10 green tea bags to warm running water.

Lemon

Add – 5-6 juiced lemons to bathwater.

Olive oil

Add – 5 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil to running water.
